Firefighters Dance

We hope to see everyone at our 37th annual Firefighters Dance, Friday, June 27th at Police Officer's Memorial Park on Lincoln St.  Free Parking!  Free Admission!  Gates open at 5pm.  Matthew Kane and the band GREENBRIER at 5:30pm.  Standing Hampton at 9pm-midnight.  Great music!  Cold beer!  Great Food!    Great FUN!

Two new firefighters have joined the ranks of the Norwich Fire Department. James Eric Justice and Alex John have completed 15 weeks of training at the Connecticut Fire Academy. They were officially sworn in as members of the department yesterday in a ceremony held at Fire Headquarters.

Hoover , AL Fire Fighters Upset Over Plea Deal in Attempted Murder Case

Hoover, AL Fire Fighters and members of IAFF Local 4035 are upset and angry that a man who shot at them from inside his home and charged with attempted murder was allowed to plea guilty to a lesser charge and received probation as part of his plea agreement with the district attorney office. What really is mind boggling is that this person will receive his seized guns back in 6 months.

The boy, who Duffy declined to name, was rushed to a Boston hospital around 6:30 p.m.
WSFD Firefighters Graduate the Academy

FF. Justin Rainville and R.J. Link graduated from the Massachusetts Fire Academy on April 10th, 2015. As members of Class 226 both firefighters as well as 21 of their classmates from 12 different Massachusetts communities completed the vigorious 45 day program. Both FF. Rainville and Link were hired by WSFD in September 2014. Both firefighters are Air Force veterans with FF.

Today, Lori Gordon a Veterinarian for Massachusetts Task Force 1 came in to teach Belmont Fire Department EMT's and Paramedics how to assess and treat K9 injuries. Also on hand was Belmont Police Department K9 Officer Cory Taylor and his partner Grim.
Group 2 - 2nd Alarm Fire - Moraine Street

On Thursday evening, May 14th, Group 2 responded to a reported building fire in an apartment complex on Moraine Street. Initial response was Engine 1, Engine 2, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, Car 3 and a Waltham Engine Company on the line box. On arrival heavy smoke was pushing from the charlie side, basement division. Car 3 transmitted a working fire, then a second alarm. Engine Co.

The 14th District mourns the loss of Brother Chris Russell The brothers and sisters of the Bossier City Firefighters Association regretfully wish to inform our family across this great state association of the sudden tragic death of Brother Chris Russell. Chris was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. He was the perfect example of a father, fireman and human being.

Firefighters Local 21 regrets to announce the passing of retired Firefighter Duane Cunningham.  Firefighter Cunningham passed on May 19, 2015.  Firefighter Cunningham started with the Saint Paul Fire Department on April 3, 1967 and retired on October 31, 1994. No Service.

Platoon 3 members gathered outside Station 3 on Wednesday, April 29th, 2015 to honor retiring Battalion Chief Don LaBanca. Chief LaBanca started his career in 1978 as a firefighter on Platoon 3 and worked as shift commander of platoon 3 for the last 9 years of his career.  Chief LaBanca retired the next morning following thirty-seven years of service with the Hamden Fire Department.

Platoon 4 responded to a structure fire May 10th at 8 Peck St. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and reported a working fire on the first floor of a 2 story wood frame. One occupant was out of the building reporting that everyone was out.

Firefighters Local 21 regrets to announce the passing of retired Firefighter Charles McCallum.  Firefighter McCallum passed on May 23, 2015.  Firefighter MaCallum started with the Saint Paul Fire Department on May 1, 1949 and retired on August 30, 1984.
Small Brush Fire

Around 1 o'clock this afternoon, Engine 3 and Squad A were dispatched to 235 W. Thames St for a reported brush fire. Engine 3 arrived on scene to find a 20' x 20' area on fire. The fire was extinguished with the booster line off of Engine 3.

Death of Retired Brother Herman "Hermie" Kilwein

 Retired Local 452 member, Herman Kilwein, passed away May 23rd.  Brother Kilwein, was a very popular guy with all shifts.  He could hide and not be found.  During his time, each shift had a locked food locker and a padlocked refrigerator.  None of that could keep Hermie out.
4th Division members rescue puppy.

On Saturday night May 23rd 2015, 4th Division members from Engine Company 11 and Squad Company 2 were dispatched the area of 232 Cedar St in a humanitarian effort to assist a dog stuck in a culvert pipe 12ft down an embankment. Squad 2 Firefighter Edward Taylor who is also a professional dog trainer, was able to reach the dog, and bring him up safely.

Set a secure admin password
The first thing to do when you initially login as the administrator is set a secure password for the account. Click the User Settings button from the home page, then scroll down to the bottom of the page. You will see a password field. Delete the current password and enter in your own private password.
The administration area
The Administration Area is the main control panel for the UnionActive system. To access the Administration Area, login to the website as an administrator, and then click the Admin Area button just below the website date. Each link in the Administration Area has a short description about what can be done in that area.
